Just getting started in real estate investing

Good morning everyone, My name is Dontae Taylor. I am a active duty member (United States Coast Guard) and i have all ways known that real estate investing was for me. With that being said i have done some research and i am looking for a mentor. Also i don't have any money and would love to learn about strategies that allow me to use little to no money down. My goal is to get into long term multi-family properties and build wealth in that area of real estate. I have the drive and heart for the business i just need guidance. Welcome to BP @Dontae Taylor, and thank you for your service.  If you haven't already, I would recommending reading "Investing in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down by Brandon Turner.  It' a great book that talks about exactly what you are looking for in terms of starting strategies.

Those markets you mentioned have great potential - I'm a little biased towards Texas, specifically the Austin area, but I've heard great things about all that you mentioned.  I would be happy to help out in any way I can.  Cheers!
