Pretty big opportunity that I would appreciate your insight on
My dream is to rent and hold rental properties and eventually become a Principal Broker. I have been doing real estate school here in Utah for a month now and am about 1/3 of the way done. I just had a mentor of mine back home(who is a principal broker that owns 100+ units) offer me a job to work under him with his partners' son(who is my age) to be a property analyst and learn the jack of all trades for real estate. They will be paying me a $2,500 salary a month with the opportunity to get a 1% commission on any apartment complexes that my partner and I find and that they buy. The commission will be split between us. I would just go ahead and start over probably and get my Oregon License instead.
My dilemma is that I was planning on selling solar in the summer in hopes of getting about $60,000-$80,000 for a down payment on a property. I guess my question for you is what would you do? Do you feel that to get started in real estate, money or this experience, will be more important?
