New Investor in Atlanta

Hello,

I am new to real estate investing. I currently own 2 rental units (Each are 2/1) in a college town. I just finished Brandon Turner's Rental Property Investing. My goal in the next 6 month to a year, is to purchase a multiplex/apartment complex and to build my social circle in real estate. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey @Matthew Herman, welcome to the BP community & Atlanta!

No doubt you already know this, but networking is key when getting started in a new market. This is not only important for finding deals but also for determining where/how to look. You learn a ton by speaking with investors & RE pros who are active in a market. Just make sure you take everything you hear with a grain of salt and confirm with other research. However, if you speak with enough folks in one market, you will quickly see some common themes that should help with honing in on where to look & what to look for.

Are you local or OOS? If OOS, you will want to hit Facebook and BiggerPockets hard to set up phone calls with experienced locals. If local, consider in person meetings too (depending on your comfortability level with this).

Please, don't hesitate to reach out anytime if you have questions or just want to chat about the Atlanta market!
