sometimes you need to fire people

I have fired people several times in the past because I didn't think they were performing at the level I am expecting. I am trying to learn the balance of being understanding and firm at the same time.

I find myself giving more chances to a team member that I like. However, I need to enforce a three strike you're out rule regardless of our relationship .

Some team members are good people so you tend to cut them slack. However, if they keep failing to meet deadlines and not keep their word I believe a line must be reestablished .

At the end of the day we are here to make money not make friends.
