Why would I pay someone (CPA or online tool) to form an LLC when I can do it by myself using the IRS website?

I am not sure where you can form an LLC via the IRS, but you can get an EIN for free through the IRS for your LLC. You can form the LLC via your state's government website and pay the applicable fees listed.

When you apply for an EIN with IRS, you can to choose what type of legal structure, business, or type of organization is being established. And LLC is one of the options.

This gives you your EIN. Which is like a Social Security number for a business. It doesn't actually establish the entity.
