Hello Investorland!

Does anyone have any tips for writing a comprehensive business plan? What to include, what not to include, how to format it, etc?

Thanks!

For starters, you really will benefit by clarifying what you want to accomplish

Is this an ongoing business? A new business launch? A real estate related business? An investment plan?

I have several different plans. When I was in the Fortune 500 corporate world, we used annual operating and functional plans. Helpful but not very applicable to the businesses that I've started and currently own.

Here's what I use:

Strategic Plan - summarizes which markets I wish to serve, what services and where profits are made

Business Plan - details the product/services and methods of reaching niche markets

Marketing Calendar - monthly implementation of campaigns, by media, etc.

Investment Strategy & Plan - where I invest my money, how to grow, protect and spend

Tip: in you focus on asking better questions (of yourself and of others) you'll be much more likely to be lead to better answers.
