LLC, good idea or not?

My question is should we create an LLC to protect ourselves, if yes, what is the best way to accomplish this. (Living in San Antonio, TX)

Short story on why I ask: we recently went through hard money lenders to get two houses (I will try to never do it that way again) one is currently rented and the second is on the renters market. There is some positive cash flow, however we would like to protect us from being sued, as well as pursuing more houses.

All suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Joe
