Best Canadian Corporate Structure For An American Investor?

One of my American friends is looking at buying a property in Canada.
I wanted to know, what's the ideal Canadian Corporate Structure to use when purchasing buy & hold investments as an American National?
With the main goal of limiting taxes and limiting overall personal liability.
