Interstate 1031 / qualified intermediary

Hi folks,

If I am looking to sell a property in my state and purchase a property in another state via 1031, would I seek out a QI in my state, the acquiring state, or does it not matter?

Also, any tips/advice on this particular kind of transaction would be graciously appreciated.
