Failed 1031, installment sale.

I have a 1031 that is falling through and the 180th day is Dec 30th.  Can I still do an installment sale if I don’t receive the funds until January?  Is it the end of the 180 days OR when I receive payment  from the qualified intermediary that matters in regard to installment sale rules. Thx
