Great thx.  Just spoke with my accountant and he is saying if I get it in 2019 I’m good for the installment sale.  Thanks again for the great response.

Post: Worst time to buy investment Property??

Now is not the best time to buy especially in Utah.  Keep saving, give it a few yrs.  I just sold my Utah rental that was a strong cash flow.   I’m definitely not a buyer for residential right now.

I have a 1031 that is falling through and the 180th day is Dec 30th.  Can I still do an installment sale if I don’t receive the funds until January?  Is it the end of the 180 days OR when I receive payment  from the qualified intermediary that matters in regard to installment sale rules. Thx
