for the US cities a vast majority of the crime is in specific neighborhoods and the rest of the city is as safe as any other city in the US.. Chicago for example if you take out south side and west side.. the crime numbers drop drastically.
Every city has its bad area some are just geographically larger than others.. Its well documented where the crime is and by whom.
