In my experience, the best thing to do is warn people over and over again.

For the past decade, my husband and I have run several real estate investor groups here in Milwaukee that allow us to be very attune to what is happening in our local market and I'd be happy to warn you about things to watch out for. 

Would a tool that gives you an early warning on site risks before breaking ground be valuable?

If they do not, that is a huge warning flag and you should not go into business with them.Any good GC will not use a Contract that was perpared by/for the customer as it will lack any protection for them.You can ask to see a copy of the contract in advance of signing it.

We finally gave them a couple of warnings to make payment on time, and since they haven't we are filing eviction paperwork.
