I think they've really been helped by the full/partial telecommute, as it's not terrible if you had to go into the city once or twice a week, but if everyone goes back to full-on 5 day offices I think there will be some exodus. 

As more and more tech companies allow employees to telecommute or work from home, Sacramento and Stockton will explode.

If you have the ability to live 6 months & 1 day in NV and avoid that, your realized earnings & savings may be enormous if you have the ability to tele-commute with any day job.

I apologize up front if this post is disorganized, but I'm sure there are other people who are or have been in my shoes and can offer guidance.About me: mid-30s, high-paying day job, telecommute and somewhat flexible hours, married with kids, own a duplex in Los Angeles county. 

I would Airbnb the rooms when I wasn't in town.I currently rent a place in San Diego and have a telecommuting job building websites.

Hopefully you can telecommute or get a new job in ME.

I ask applicants as I've found many have no problem telecommuting or arranging their schedule around repairs if needed, and some actually prefer it that way.  

Move to Santa Cruz and telecommute

I could live with someone who telecommutes (and likely do without being aware of it), but I would not allow clients or co-workers coming over.
