My pre-conception is that Section 8 is not profitable, but I want to help in some way.

Obviously it can be done well or poorly, like anything.My experience is that buyers still have a somewhat negative preconception of them and you won't achieve a comparable value on resale even if building costs were the same.

The issue is a lot of them have the preconception that an LLC is the only way to do business, I could've done a better job at managing these expectations.

I just couldn’t imagine why ppl with a decent job behaves this way, but I know better now, never make preconceptions on anything and follow the book no matter what.

It was about changing ideas and preconception.  

I am glad you brought it up however as it's obviously not an isolated preconception.

I guess an agent who is experienced with wholesale buyers truly know the goldmine they can be, and those who have a preconception may not be best suited to working with them anyway.

Others are just plain offensive and can't accept challenges to their preconceptions.  

Challenge all of your preconceptions about houses - what they look like, what's inside, what the people are like in the neighborhoods. 

You said you had been warned you were going to waste your time, perhaps you did have a preconception, a self fulfilling one.
