Congrats on orthodontic residency, though I know residency will be time consuming as well. 

My husband has an Orthodontic practice.  

My oldest daughter had a lot of dental and orthodontic issues.

Actually, having gotten a few dental and orthodontics bills (3 kids!)

That level of debt is completely understandable for an orthodontist.  4 years of college, 4 years of dental school plus 2 years orthodontics fellowship tuition and living expenses adds up.  

I ended up moving to Gainesville, Fl because my best friends were here, and I no longer wished to follow the path of Orthodontics I was on.

So I had an idea this morning, curious if this is legal and/or recommended.Here is my idea:I have an LLC that operates my real estate investment businessI have a self-directed IRA LLC with about $40kMy friend has an LLP/LLC for his orthodontics practiceLet's say that he also has a self-directed IRA LLC with about $40kNow let's further say that my self-directed IRA loans my friend $40K at 15% for 5 years. 

I have a client who bought an orthodontic practice and the whole building with two units upstairs about the business and I think he paid less.

So a set of dentistry, orthodontics, pediatrics, etc.

For us they’re called either a GPR (General Practice Residency) or AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry), and then of course there are specialties (orthodontics, oral surgery, etc).
