We have been swept by the influencers touting the benefits of cost seg, so we are wondering how come nobody ever mentioned that it might not fully appy during the first year in service.You relied on two almost equally awful sources of information: influencers and IRS publications.

However, I have no idea how to choose from the remaining cities, it seems there are a lot of potential options:- Midwest - Michigan (ie: Grand Rapids) seems to have options, also seeing Columbus Ohio and Indianapolis coming up- Reno - I've seen mentioned several times on here- Pittsburgh / Philadelphia / Twin Cities - All mentioned as lower cost to get started, and seem to be experiencing growthI'd ideally like to find a place that has strong potential for future growth, a diversified economy, and I don't mind living in (being close to nature would be a plus).

@Brad KanouseYou've gotten some good info so far from Arthur and Dmitriy and I wanted to add in some other things to think about as well.1.Self-Directed IRA (SDIRA): This is what @Dmitriy Fomichenko mentioned, and he's right, it could be a self-directed IRA or a solo 401k.
