Social Security also has a consent based ssn verification process where a SSN can be verified with the parties consent.Again, we can never be 100% full proof but we can stay on top of the latest ways to mitigate the fraudsters at their game.How are you catching fakes?

Hi all - I'm a new STR host and I recently had my first bad guest experience and have some questions about damage protection and guest verification on VRBO specifically.

I did all my other due diligence like asking for paystubs, W2s, Tax returns, Employment verification, bank statements etc etc and did not see any red flags overall.

Be diligent in your application process and verification.

Stuart - we do not identity check the people who are signing up to post to the forums.

Screening: Includes income verification and rental history verification.

When they apply is when you should confirm their identity.  

As for income verification, I require the applicants two most recent paystubs and if self employed I need their most recent tax return.
