You can add granules to it to make it non-slip but that’s designed for shop floors & auto repair shops.

Worn shingles, they have granules on them, they are not smooth, but when they start to get smooth that is a sign they are aging for sure.Locally, you can have 2 layers so doesn't always mean you need to replace, a recover is often good.

It'd be a slightly ugly 3 tab, but they'd miss the water damage to decking, missing granules due to hail, and lifted/creased tabs.

I would at least show an effort and keep the receipts for bug bombs, ant/roach spray, d-con mouse/rat poison, insect granules, professional carpet cleaning.

hi marc hope this answers your question roll roofing is always ok and its actually supposed to be used when there is a little pitch when there is no pitch roll roofing is also required but it has to be smooth no granulated torch or hot work must be a Peal in stick base and cap smooth then when you get to pitch roofs only up to a 3 12 pitch could you roll horizontally any thing great from 4 12 to 8 12 must be rolled vertically or as what some people call strapped any thing greater then 8 12 must either be 6 nailed shingle and felt strapped or standing seam metal

There were gaps in the front and back doors big enough to fit a hand under, a mosquito infested back yard and other bugs also which tracked into the house under said door gaps including wasp tarantulas and scorpions... we had a professional company come out 1x per week to spray for mosquitos so our kids and dogs could enjoy the outdoors and lay granulated pesticides (non toxic).
