I've paid my dues in multiple different programs through the years and I've had some amazing experiences as a result and some not so good ones.  

I'm hoping there may be someone who is willing to mentor me. 

Is the landlord or your boss, not a great first mentor?

You have to earn a mentor by showing up a lot and then your mentor will appear.
