. $50 per bedroom, so a 4-bedroom house will cost you about $150~200consumables - bathroom supplies, kitchen supplies, beverage supplies: $20~30 per week, depending on how much you providewear and tear - towels, linen, kitchen utensils, some furniture: $1000~2000 per yearRepairs/replacement for things that guests break or steal:  $1000~2000 per yearAlso, if your personal use is less than 14 days a year, the entire property's expense is deductible against STR income, but if you use more than 14 days, then you will have to calculate the proportion of how many days it's rented out vs how many days you or your family uses.

Rail roads he has got that covered.  ...and restaurants (Dairy Queen), and the Beverage Industry (Coke), and Oil & Gas (Suncor Energy), etc., etc., etc.The other side of the coin is he also missed the .com bubble burst in the late 80's.I tend to feel the same way...if you're going to invest, then invest in something you know.

They have one beverage too many, get an idea in their head that they can fix their problems by purchasing a short-term rental, and all they have to do is click a button to ask their question.I wouldn't bother sending financials to anyone until they show a pre-qual letter from a bank to demonstrate they are slightly serious.
