Property Management: can you reduce cost with scale?
5 October 2022 | 6 replies
The fact of the matter is, the more discounts an owner asks for, the more troublesome they probably are and they'll end up being more work than the average owner. Most professionals do not offer steep discounts or alter their management style because it increases the workload by forcing us to change processes to meet that one owner's desires.

I was just in a home that still had open flame space heaters and that went out of style/code years and years ago.You just have to decide for yourself and maybe your tenants what is a real safety issue and what isn't and decide if you want to spend the money to fix it.

Gambrel roof style with no attic venting or gutters. Those are just a few of the things called out that i would say are MAJOR and of course could cost several thousand to remediate.I've asked that the seller address the structural and chimney issues by a licenses engineer and contractor in order for me to even consider moving forward with the purchase, however if they decided not to and i ask for a significant reduction in price (thinking maybe $20-25K), would that make sense/be fair?

See if you predicted correctly:1- The stock market and housing market recovered after the 2007-2008 recession in just 5 years and appreciated much quicker after that.2- The short-term rental market and other sectors recovered from the 2020 Covid shutdown recession quickly and went into a boom mode3- Instead doing a surgical-strike operation in Ukraine , the Russians got them into a Vietnam-style quagmire.
