I love the idea of running your own business and building long-term wealth through real estate investing, and have since been learning as much as I can and networking with like-minded individuals within the industry. 

LLCs are a type of business entity that shields owners from liability for business debts and avoids double taxation while providing for a flexible structure to manage the business.Would you consider one better than the other and why?

I would speak with realtors, and local banks to better understand the business.

Think like a business, demand for product.

I know i can claim my short term rental income as active income as long as 1. avg rental is < 7 days 2. spent more than 100 hours managing it.If I have other long / mid-term rentals, does the active business status carry over to other property's rental income?

Also some people have very busy jobs or just don't want to take the time to do it.

Consider joining one of these groups or attending these meetings so that you can get to know other people and potentially find a future business partner if you need one. 

In the intervening years I acquired a business and focussed on my career.

This is hospitality as a business and real estate as an asset.
