Hotels and Hybrids off the Coast of Canada

Manosij Majumdar

Hello everyone. My name is Mano.

I'm returning to BiggerPockets after a hiatus of 8 years.

I first heard of BiggerPockets from a professor as I was about to graduate from my MBA in 2016. In the intervening years I acquired a business and focussed on my career. I am now at the point where real estate is relevant to the next stage of my business journey. I reached out to an experienced real estate investor in my network and he recommended BiggerPockets. It was a full circle moment for me.

My priority at present is learning with a special focus on hybrid properties (commercial at street level with residential above—I'm sure there a term of art for it!) and hotels.

I am based in Victoria, BC.

A bit of a primer for my American friends:
Victoria is a mid-sized city on Vancouver Island, off the west coast of Canada. If you follow the US-Canada border west, it's a straight line until it hits the Pacific, where it hooks down to accommodate the southern tip of Vancouver Island. That's us.

The nearest major Canadian city is Vancouver, which is on the mainland. The nearest major city overall is Seattle. These are both accessible by ferry, and Seattle is actually closer!
