Writing off full rehab?
4 January 2016 | 4 replies
I'm not an accountant, but i believe any capitol improvement you made would have to be depreciated over the life span of the product or asset. furnace, hot water heater - i believe would be over the typical life span of those products. windows, kitchen, bath - i believe would be over a 27.5 year span. minor repairs can be deducted in full that year. someone correct me if i am wrong, as i said, i am not an accountant.

Aesthetically and at face value, this house looks nearly identical to the other renovations - same amenities in the kitchen, similar finish in all rooms, similar bathroom remodel, similar yard/landscaping, same lot size, all one story etc.

How to get a of credit from home equity?
5 January 2016 | 1 reply
I just got a grant for 10k to have new Windows put in which is awesome since the Windows were original wood crank outs. but we have to live here for 5 years or pay 20% for each year that we aren't here for whatever reason.Anyway the house is pretty original with the exception of an on suite remodel, newer carpet and hardwood in the kitchen.

You can set a apple or an orange on kitchen floor and either will roll to the center of the house approximately 10 ft away.
