It seems that while the locals won't currently report such things to credit bureaus, a tax sale including the owner's personal information would be public record that could potentially be obtained by credit bureaus.

I would suggest you have your attorney draft a real estate contract with the purchase price and terms (conditions including inspection, how attorney fees will be split, etc).

Vacant land prices are relatively inexpensive compared to existing building structures including ones that need to be renovated.As for the new rules coming in place, it just makes it that much harder to get financing from say... banks.
