David Greene, the host of the BP podcast (which you really should listen to) often says that everyone should be house hacking at least one property every year, regardless of what other strategy they use.

Has anyone had any experience with not getting any bookings from these hosting platforms? 

In the end, they are a large part of what helped us to get to super host status twice on AirBnB, so I definitely want to keep them happy!

Utilities are in the host's name just like a STR.

I'll stick with managing my own properties and co hosting for friends getting on their feet. 

I was super close to pulling the trigger in that market but got boots on the ground and learned what’s happening from local hosts.
