I've seen damage caused by children that is waaayyy worse than anything an animal, even a neglected animal, could do. 

To make a long story short and partially told, they include gang bangers in their 20's killing each other as children, hardly junior finding a gun and accidently shooting someone, gun safety and proper storage of upmost importance. 

After a couple months there I ended up moving in with my dad and stepmother into an apartment of theirs along with their two children.
