There have recently been a few postings on some of the landlord forums I'm on of landlords who have had Section 8 tenants who lost their vouchers several months before yet, for some reason, the housing authority kept paying until they realized their mistake and are now requiring these landlords to reimburse back the rent provided.

Maybe 2 months before the end of the lease I would recommend sending a certified letter return receipt, I think it’s up to like $10 now from the post office and in the letter I’d make it a formal business letter, Microsoft Word has a template, and say something like Dear Tenant X: Thank you for being a valued tenant.
