I am pretty handy and will take down the entire center of the room and drywall if I need to.

As well, being a single resident of my home, I am also going to try the house hacking method and rent out one or both of my extra rooms, depending on what ends up working out.  

We have the benefit of having a newer construction (2005) vs. most of the other properties that are circa 1920 with all the small rooms, but more 'charm'. 

If a building was on fire and a bunch of people were locked inside, and one room had one person and one room had 20 people, I would bash down the door of the room with 20 people first even if the other room was a bigshot and the 20 were nobodies.
