Sometimes we need to just rely on a good old fashion "Bluff".Write them a letter (All tenants of the building)  stating that you have had complaints regarding the smell of pot in the building.

I did get the impression that OP article subject person didn't seem as if anything was really explained to her, she was just along for the ride and trying to decipher things.It is possible that these actors above were humans with internal biases and weren't 'fairly' playing their characters, however.
