I stated support for environmental protection (and still do), and I stated that cap and trade wouldn't require necessary retrofit of existing homes (it doesn't), but I *never* said I supported the Cap and Trade bill that went to the Senate floor (I haven't read the whole thing, so I would never say I supported it or didn't support it).Oh, and I did make this comment:The frigging bill is 1200 pages long and was just written this week (with 300 pages added the night before it passed), so I can't imagine anyone has actually read it yet...let alone knows what it means...In theory, it sounds great...but with how they rushed it, I'm sure in reality it's a piece of crap...So, now that you very clearly said I support Cap and Trade above, please provide some proof to support this ridiculous claim. As for healthcare, I've stated that I support government subsidized healthcare for children.

Yes, the new cars get a little better gas mileage, but what does it take (environmentally speaking) to manufacture those cars; destroy the clunkers, destroy all the parts which could have been recycled, etc.Furthermore, I would like to know how effective the clunkers program is at enslaving those lease able to afford it with more debt.

I've known situations where bigger guys like us are occasionally hit and the "insulation" actually absorbs the impact enough to cause the ball to bounce off without breaking.
