Not just pay 200 bucks to have them change a filter! 

I just got off the phone with my PM and he said the HVAC guy thinks its a dirty air filter (and he plans to change the thermostat as well).

What is the cost comparison between replacing and filtering?  

You will be seen as an outsider with suspect motives (wanting to buy it cheap) if you do get involved.Wish you the best, but not holding my breath. 

Might be worth hitting the "Network" tab on the top of the page, selecting "Events", and filtering for events close to your zip code.

Bringing over a big pack of the super strong allergen-preventing furnace filters is much appreciated when people have kids or health problems. 

BUT don't hold your breath.
