DTSP and the Edge/Kenwood (West of downtown & 275) seem to have rents built into the price already, so the rent may cover the mortgage, but no really profit after your expenses/management/vacancy, etc.

I would probably start your search in areas such as Plaza Terrace/Drew Park (basically in and around Raymond James Stadium and the hospital), eastern Seminole Heights, Wellswood, West Tampa (just north of Kennedy Ave west of the Hillsborough River).

I have clients under contract in West Jordan who are going to rent out their basement MIL- and already have the renter lined up!

Prices to the west drop dramatically.  

We have met or have heard of at least 5 other people who also recently moved from larger cities on the West Coast to Cleveland area in the last year too- I think it must be catching on!
