Presumably, the fan wouldn't be circulating air around anyway (if that's even a risk) as the thermostat is allegedly broken.

Are ceiling fans in Alaska a worthy investment for rentals?

If the units just seem outdated but flooring and walls aren't too bad replacing light fixtures, outlet/switch covers, ceiling fans, and putting in LED lighting can make a big impact!

I will be submitting paperwork to head back east to my roots in New England (Hopefully Mass or RI area).

For example, the West Coast is seeing lower costs of capital than the New England area, while Florida can still get maybe 2 pts origination and 12% annualized for a 1st lien position loan.To see what's happening in your specific market, you can secret shop some local hard money lenders, community banks, and brokers to see what their rates and terms are for different products and the qualifications to get those products.

We rebuilt the front and back deck, replaced the hot tub cover/added a flipper, added more patio furniture, replaced the ugly flooring (cheap wood laminate/linoleum in bathrooms) downstairs, redecorated the entire inside, changed out dated light fixtures/fans, added small furniture pieces and decor to make it feel welcoming, added arcade games, purchased books/games/art, and adding a cabin name sign at street/on house.  

When you don't know the exact paint color and sheen, you will eventually end up repainting the entire wall, room, or house (which, BTW, is why I'm a big fan of a standard paint color and materials list for property managers and landlords). 

I'm a big fan of the 'snipping tool' on windows, but in order to add the photo, you have to save it to your device and then upload the image from the location where you've had it saved. 

Not a fan of that idea either, I'd rather use the money when I want to, not be required to take out funds. 

That does not mean you should not come to OH and visit your investments or visit the areas you are investing in specifically, but it does keep you away from the day to day a bit.Other than that I'd say that OH in general and the Mid-west are going to be lower priced markets than what you see in RI and New England, but of course within OH there are many different markets and plays you can make.
