Perhaps this is an extreme case to use as an example but I am using this to illustrate a point which is this neighborhood like many others in the country would be well served by finding the correct balance between zoning laws and ease of doing business.

I've owned rentals in the East Bay, as well as out of state in OH and TX.

And if the PMC manages the on-site staff, does that include hiring and firing as well? 

I think most of the ones I have come across are either a) Very well off, and diversifying, or b) much later in their careers and they are using a vehicle they know (RE), just in a more passive way. 

Immediately after closing, we registered an LLC so that we could protect our personal assets as landlords.
