I don't need/want my insurance company to be involved in every minor defect the house goes through, I just need the insurance to cover catastrophic loss like a fire taking the entire building.Of course I also don't live in areas that are prone to hail, flooding, tornados, or any other dramatic weather conditions.

Sadly its in a flood zone and it is projected to get worse in the coming years.

Who has built in a flood zone?

Some short term places near the water in Hallandale.  

A lot of tenants in the area were just displaced in the floods also, but still want/need to stay in the area.

Did you check that the house is not on the flood plain, on the FEMA website?

I need some advice.I’m in the metro detroit area and I’m looking to purchase this multi family property that only has one furnace for both units, water and electric is separate.

I also love that if something crazy is going on at my unit (think water running into the street due to a burst pipe - this happened not at my condo but a place I once owned in Chicago) I know that the on site grounds and maintenance manager will text me right away.

When I google information, it is flooded with ADU info, but my building does not fall under the qualifying area.
