House hacking in Westchester County NY

I am looking to house hack in Westchester, what are some ares that people suggest? Yonkers, Tuckahoe, Bronxville all look to be extremely expensive and the further north you go, the cheaper it is. Areas like Rye,NY and even closer to Putnam Valley are much cheaper, but will I find tenants there? Thoughts?

Yes absolutely. You’re right in that rents are less expensive the further north you go but many people are still commuting to NYC as far north as Poughkeepsie. I would stay south of i84 to be sure that you don’t have long term vacancies.

I live in Pleasantville ny, easy commute no matter what route you take (train/car) and our leases for the renovated units in our 6 family a block from the train is:

1900/1 bed, 2400/2Bed, 3500/3 Bed (the other 3 units have long term tenants and are not updated so rents are lower)
