This is one of those cases where you should involve someone who knows what they are doing like a Realtor or attorney to draw up the paperwork.

Have the GC draw up the agreement and send it over for you to review.

For instance if there is a $50,000 budget you may have only drawn $20,000 of that when it comes time to draw a payment and the next month you may have drawn $40,000 of it, etc..Have you asked the lender about changing the wording or are you uncomfortable with them automatically debiting your account in general?

and would pay the other $1400 once the drawings were complete.   

Subsequently, is there any paperwork I need to draw up to formalize this loan between my business and I?
