When they sell their small apartment it really is their retirement day and that check is the gold watch.

I know it sounds odd, but that type of thing is the only hedge against inflation when you can't afford to buy land, houses, gold.  

This ship is doomed very soon and gold is your only way out.

I am on both sides of this, where I agree sellers should be treated a certain way, but I also think wholesalers provide a vital function, since there are many sellers who don't want to or can't work with agents for various reasons, and thus we have so much underutilized housing stuck in amber that needs to be recycled and put back into the supply.

What if the seller is a member of congress and just got caught with bars of gold and cash stuffed in his suits in his closets and needs to "off load" now!
