No red flags or negative history, no debt except my primary residence, ample investment knowledge and available capital, etc., and find it frustrating to be blocked and be closed off to funds that I would 100% invest in.

It seems like it could save the government money they only negatives I see is it could open up fair housing concerns and cost for the automation but could be outweighed with reduced calls. . 

The negative cash flow from CA properties helps them defer the income tax.

I would be careful in trying to pay off any mortgage in this market while property values in many states may see a negative adjustment in the next two years.
