Once she understands that you aren't going into this with rose-colored glasses, that you understand the risks and have a plan to get around them, she may be more open to moving forward.Honestly, it's really easy to be supportive of a spouse's goals as long as they are some nebulous, "in the future" goals or dreams and they don't require any actual work or commitment from you yet.Be patient.

While we do attend trainings and write lesson plans in the summer we also have more than enough time to travel and drink cold ones at the beach.

The place is really in perfectly adequate condition, but our plan is to go in and take it to the next level... replacing carpets with wood plank tiles, installing glass tile backsplash , staining kitchen cabinets dark and adding satin nickel pulls, adding stainless appliances, a dishwasher, disposal, built in microwave, resurfacing countertops...

We personally enjoy walking to dinner, drinks, the park, and groceries when we run out of a thing or two in the middle of the week, so for us walk score is important.
