It organically turned into us trying to put a deal together with them but they wanted to keep the agent involved which was fine with us.

That alone will help you a ton when if you decide to invest out of state companies will not be able to just throw any quote at you for a job it also helps your negotiating skills in deals.Good Luck and Happy Investing!!

After college I joined a Management consulting firm that has allowed me to develop great skills and travel across the world.I have always been really interested in Real Estate and I am in the process of obtaining my RE license on the side. 

Consider carefully if you want to actually pay money to buy into his problems and whether or not you have the skills and resources to not become another "him".

However, once you know who's in the area and what kind of reputation they have you might find out some who are great don't have the English skills or a professional looking estimate but would still be great to work with.Greg

@Douglas Snook @Joshua Costa I don't think that there are any organized meetings on Saturdays in the area, but I would be interested in meeting up with other investors to talk about our plans and how we can leverage one another if you are interested. 

My non skilled workers can learn to install after one demonstration on how to do it.  

@Dave Visaya I haven't tried getting on BP from my phone to download, but with itunes podcase, I get a list of all the shows and when im at home i download them with wifi then listen to it on my commute and it keeps it organized, but i'll check it out how it works to download from site on my phone.
