I work in the public sector generally and don't make enough to counteract the federal debt to income percentage.I have not been able to save any money for a down payment due to trying to pay down my student loan.I have recently inherited a small amount of money enough for a down payment on a property (hopefully).

What mattered most to me was that I was in downtown Philadelphia, with easy access to public transportation and most importantly that would attract a roommate right away.

I went to my local (Polk County) Clerk of Court office to try and get the list of recent Lis Pendens and the lady showed me to the computer with public records.
