I'm wondering if any folks in the Houston / College Station or maybe even Austin areas have any thoughts on whether it'd be a good idea to to buy SFRs in the small town of Navasota near CS.

ps. besides college, I'm a software developer full time. net 13k a year, anyone wants to hire a developer for a bit more?

I’m currently a software engineer with no real estate experience aside from a 1 credit intro to real estate class in college.

If there's a better place for this, please let me know.I was speaking with a local two-year college.

Has a nice college there ,oil,gas  jobs are around .Might want to see how to play on what type of housing needs the 2 sources of income like .

College is a waste and for suckers (I got 8 years under my belt I know).

At first I decided to go back to school and get a couple masters degrees then I decided to start teaching night school at a community college. 

All I know is I would have loved to not have gone to college and instead apply that money spent to another rental property.
