Ultimately, I'd like to get to the point with investing where I don't need to have a full-time corporate job.I look forward to meeting people on here and gaining the knowledge to become a very successful investor. 

In pretty much any case you can join a REIA with no experience,  I would definitely look at it due to the knowledge that others have, attending one has helped me a ton.

Duplex will never stay occupied on both sides long enough to be the investment you thought it would be on paper. 

First, she completed the application, when I told them I needed him to do so (she is a stay at home Mom) because he was the sole employed in the family.  

Looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as possible to move forward in acquiring buy and hold properties to gain financial freedom.

The good part of this is that it's a pretty good job, so it will allow me to have a fair income/cash flow to put towards investing.Otherwise, I'm a quick learner and fairly good with finances but I'm not bringing anything to the table in terms of knowledge about construction/building/renting/etc. 

Flip houses, have some single family home and small multi family rentals, and looking at buying a mobile home park.If you have any interest in the mobile home park space or any knowledge of it, let me know and maybe we can get together and I can share what I've learned.Jon
