We offered a low, but what seemed fair price for the actual property knowing that we would have to remove the old trailer/structure.6/30 – The seller accepted our offer and said that it could be sent to Chase.7/5 – We learned that really our offer wasn’t “real” until after the appraisal and BPO was done, and the property had been on the market for a set amount of time.7/13 – The appraisal and such are finally completed.

There are all sorts of nasty tactics that are used to make a listing unviewable - the one mentioned in the OP, the removal of the key from the lockbox, changing the lockbox combination, etc.

On the quote, which was explained to me, my fiancé and my realtor, he charged $665 to install 266 sq ft in tile in the kitchen, bath and utility, $600 to remove the tile in the kitchen bath and utility and $300 to remove the shower in the master (which was plastic) and put up backer board for the new shower.

If your goal is to obtain conventional mortgage financing, you could start by obtaining a copy of your credit report ... make sure it's accurate; challenge any inaccuracies to have them removed.
