You may get re-assessed on the property taxes side as the assessor may see it as a sale and their eyes are bigger then IRS.

I've been there, you've basically worked for free for several months and now the clients/partners want more, and likely because outside parties have filled their heads up with non comparable cost comparisons regarding quality of work, materials, licensed subs or just flat out lies.

You can also go to the local assessor office and examine the public records which should have all those Sales listed as its Public Record.

Problems" with the mother's SS sounds like a lie anyway.
