I personally am willing to hold onto properties at slight loss or low cashflow if that means I can hold the asset for long term while providing a quality product for my tenant knowing that time will bring a higher return.

@Vi Prich if you lived in the rented one 2 out of the last 5 years, you can keep up to $250,000 single or $500,000 married equity tax free.

Given this was your home (ie, principal residence), and as long as you've lived in your home for 2 of the last 5 years, your sale is likely eligible for the Section 121 exclusion, meaning $250k in gain excluded from taxable income (or up to $500k in gain if married and filing jointly).
