Hello, I am in central Florida.

Would like to purchase something downtown or close to central Chicago so I can be close enough to put out any figurative fires.  

In this extraordinary feat of reporting and ethnography, Desmond has made it impossible ever again to consider poverty in the United States without tackling the central role of housing.I didn't even make it to the end of the first sentence before I, quite literally, started laughing hard enough to make my wife curious.

I am considering replacing a split system air conditioner/furnace in a 1000 sq. ft. 3/1 rental home with a new 2 ton AC unit and a 70k BTU gas furnace.

FYI- It is not the responsibility of the landlord to make sure the tenant pays the electric/gas bill  Ironically, Air Conditioning is not required. 

Average excise tax (transfer tax / stamp duty) in central WA is 1.7% each time as @Brian Fouts mentions. 

The mechanicals were boiler fed baseboard heat and hot water, and no air conditioning. 

Very few homes had tile roofs that are the norm for middle of the road and up homes where I live.It can't be because of the heat because in the Central valley it gets hot here.

The thing is, there will come a day when the Air Force will tell me they don't need me any more but I'll still have my family to think about.
